The School of the Environment serves as a center for excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement related the the environment and sustainability. With over 120 faculty members conducting research in the areas of environment and sustainability, no other university in Canada can offer students the breadth and depth of environmental-related scholarship found at the University of Toronto.
Masters in Environment and Sustainability (MES)
The School will soon offer a Masters in Environment and Sustainability (MES). The MES is a full-time, 12-month program that responds to the growing need of society to understand and develop solutions to the environmental and human well-being challenges facing us in the 21st century.
Please note that no offer of admissions will be made to the program pending final approval by the Quality Council and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. We anticipate accepting applications in late fall 2020, for entry in September 2021.
The School offers two Collaborative Specializations, in Environmental Studies and Environment and Health. These offer students enrolled in a graduate degree program (at either the masters or doctoral level) at the University of Toronto the opportunity to explore an interdisciplinary area that complements their existing degree program. No additional fees are required for enrollment in a Collaborative Specialization offered by the School of the Environment.
