When and Where

Townhall Theatre
Innis College

Description

Physicians argue that action is the antidote to despair when dealing with the climate crisis.

Since the October 2018 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, citizens around the globe are becoming increasingly aware of the need to act, and the gap between current government initiatives and what is needed.

This panel showcases nine organizations that work nationally and locally from a wide range of perspectives to combat the climate breakdown. They will discuss their visions for change and the actions they are taking.  Come to the panel to learn what they do, what they propose and why, and most importantly how you might get involved.

Featured Speakers from: Canadian Climate Challenge, Citizen’s Climate Lobby, Climate Justice TO, Drawdown, Extinction Rebellion, Greenpeace, Parents for Future, Porcupine Warriors and Toronto350.

Think of it as climate organizing speed-dating in the lead up to the General Strike for Climate on September 27th.

Time: 3-6 pm Friday September 13, 2019.
Place: Innis College Townhall Theatre (2 Sussex Ave.)

This event is being sponsored by the department of Geography and Planning at University of Toronto, and with funding support from the Department of Anthropology.
