Professor Michael Classens receives A&S Outstanding Teaching Award — Early Career

Congratulations to Professor Michael Classens, Undergraduate Associate Director on receiving the A&S Outstanding Teaching Award — Early Career. The award recognizes teaching excellence in undergraduate and graduate education with a focus on classroom instruction and course design and/or curriculum development, for early career faculty. Michael has regularly published journal papers and book chapters on sustainability, racial justice, and critical food systems pedagogy. In his courses, he specializes in community-based learning, informal learning outside the classroom, and integrating multiple sources of knowledge, including Indigenous and community-based knowledge.
