Description

The inaugural Toronto Meeting on the Economics of Climate Change (TMEC) will take place from Friday, June 20th, 2025, to Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at the University of Toronto.

The meeting provides a forum for researchers across fields whose research concerns the economics of climate change. This event is organized by the Department of Economics and co-sponsored by the School of Environment

TMEC is free. Attendance for non-presenters is open to scholars across fields and interested parties in the public and nonprofit sectors.

Keynote Speaker

Mar Reguant

Mar Reguant is an ICREA Researcher at IAE-CSIC and a Full Professor in Economics at Northwestern University. Her research uses high-frequency data to study the impact of auction design and environmental regulation on electricity markets and energy-intensive industries. Her recent work focuses on studying the challenges and successes in the energy transition, with a focus on renewable energy. Her work has been published in prestigious journals. She is the recipient of several awards and honors, including a PECASE award (2019) and being an Econometric Society Fellow (since 2024).
