Description

The Oxford-Penn-Toronto International Doctoral Cluster (OPT-IDC) in the Environmental Humanities and Climate Justice invites you to an upcoming exhibition event on Tuesday, April 8th, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at the Centre for Jewish Studies, Jackman Humanities Building, Room 218This event will feature Professor Andrea Most and visual artist Rochelle Rubinstein.

Andrea and Rochelle will be discussing their thought-provoking "In A Beginning" — a collaborative endeavour that opened at CJS in fall 2024 and is soon to close. This research-creative endeavour is focused on ecocritical translation of the biblical creation myths and aims to shift our culture’s relationship to the living earth by harnessing the power of ancient myths and revealing new ways to understand them.

Following Andrea and Rochelle's presentation, we warmly invite you all to join us for an afternoon Kaffeeklatsch — a gathering with plenty of opportunity for conversation and connection— to follow through on “In A Beginning” as we emerge into a new season.

All are welcome! If you plan to attend, please email em.maccallum@mail.utoronto.ca to RSVP, so we can ensure adequate catering and minimize waste. We look forward to seeing you there!
